Freedom

John 8:31-32 KJV - 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

On April 19th 1775 a shot was fired that was hear around the world. It was the start of the American Revolutionary War. America was in its infancy and was still under the Crown or Great Britain’s rule. The problem for the Americans was they were being taxed without representation. They called it tyranny.

Not believing the truth is self-inflicted tyranny. The word of God is true and it is a living word. God’s Word has the authority and the power to make men, women, boy or girl free!  It gives us freedom from sin.

Slam your arrow!

By: Wesley Wood

“And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.”
2 Kings 13:18 KJV

The next passage says that if he would have smote his arrows several more time he would have had complete victory over anything that came against their nation! But since he stopped at three he would only have partial victory.

You can have complete victory over anything that comes against you if you keep smiting your arrows on the ground (praying,fasting,reading the word). Often times we see victory up ahead and we quit and say yes I made it, but we never reach our full potential! KEEP SMITING!

Quit Like Men

By: Grant Walker

1 Corinthians 16:13 - Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

The apostle Paul was writing to the Corinthian Church, and in this scripture we read an admonition to the men. There are three parts to this text
Watch ye.

Weight Control

By: Regina Gardner

The majority of us have a weight issue and with fast food, an assortment of restaurants in every city, and microwave foods, we are surrounded with quick access to food. Oh the temptation! So we start a diet but soon we’re off track. It’s just one slice of cake. It won’t matter that much. Next week it’s a whole pie. My family will help me eat it. Wrong! Now you have more pounds to lose.
