God’s Not Finished with You

Philippians 1:6 King James Version (KJV)
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the
day of Jesus Christ:

An Artist is a person of vision and skill. When the artist picks up the Brush, the chisel or piece of clay, he
has a vision of what the raw and unformed material will become. But as he or she works on their work
of Art in the beginning it doesn't’t look like art at all, because making art is a process.

In our text Paul is speaking to church people. He is speaking to those who have started their walk with
the lord. And he tells them that the good work that has started in them will be performed. Meaning
their relationship with God is first a Good thing.

Having a relationship with God is a good thing. Because when God enters our lives he begins to work on
us, and Thank God that he does! Our actions, our attitudes, our desires… they all begin to change when
God begins his good work in us. It is as, we are the lump of clay and he has placed us on the potter’s
wheel to make us and mold us into what he wants us to be. It’s not pretty at first, but it’s a good work
and God has a vision of what he wants us to be.

The second thing that Paul tell us is the good work that God started in us he will perform it.
As all Christians do, we fall short of what we should be. We commit sin, we hold a grudge, we disobey
parents, we say things we shouldn't’t say, and we begin to think of ourselves very badly because of our
mistakes. While the bible tells us that Godly sorrow worketh repentance and that we should feel bad
when we commit sin, Paul tell us that God has started a good work in us and we are to be confident that
he will see it through that he will perform it! If there is a mess up in the drawing that the artist is
working on he doesn't’t scrap the whole thing, but he can erase it and begin to redraw, he adds more
water and bevels out the lump.

Don’t allow your mistakes keep you from living for God and holding your head high. Even the great
Apostle Paul said that he died daily. Which means he had to repent and keep himself in check, on a daily

Be encouraged today and know that God has started a good work in you and he is not finished yet!
